is a member of the board of trustees of the Stiftung Stahlwerk Georgsmarienhütte (Georgsmarienhütte Steelworks Foundation). From 1991 to 2006 he was the mayor of the City of Osnabruck, of which he is today an honorary citizen.
During his term of office, Fip was able to further develop Osnabruck’s character as the “City of Peace,” and to establish this image nationally and internationally.
