Don Quichotte - School Concert I
Music theatre for children aged 5 to 12 years old; for 2 pantomimes, clarinet, bassoon and accordion
"When ECHO (European Concert Hall Organization) asked me to write a piece for children aged 5 to 12 years old, I suggested them the story of Don Quixote, which had been in my mind for a long time already. Together with Lionel Ménard, the pantomime artists Wolfram von Bodecker and Alexander Neander developed the story of a young boy who gets to know the book of Don Quixote through his father. At night, the figures of the book become alive: the boy turns into Sancho Panza and the father into Don Quixote. Poetic and fantastic adventures are the result of their transformation. Reality or dream? It’s hard to tell the difference by the end."

slagRoom – musical attacks
The four percussionist of the “Triatu + 1“ have their very own mode of enticing their audience to their concerts: the musicians surprise the pupils in a musical raid during their everyday school lesson and show them how much music can be found in a normal classroom. Following this event, the pupils meet for an exciting concert in the theatre.

Conference - Sound PerspectivesA conference from a differenet perspective: open to everyone, interdisciplinary, creative and inspiring. This is the idea of TED. The slogan "Ideas worth spreading" is the basic idea of this global platform that was developed in the USA to create a worldwide network that brings innovators and thinkers together. TEDx is a format that is linked to this original idea and will take place in Osnabrück for the first time in November this year. Consistent with the YEAH! Festival, the topic of this conference will be "Sound Perspectives". Soundscapes, acoustic phenomena and hearing are the topics that will be considered from different point of views like technology, medicine, architecture and design - and of course not forgetting about the music. An invitation is extended to anybody who wants to wake up their brain and to be inspired by new ideas.
The YEAH! Festival was the source of ideas for the TEDxOsnabrück Event SOUND PERSPECTIVES.
Supported by the PricewaterhouseCoopers AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft.

Audible enviroments - a project presentation
To explore topics like environment in an artistic way – that was the idea of the school project of the „netzwerk junge ohren“ and the „Deutschen Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU)“. In a musically and creative way pupils of different schools of engaged their “acoustic environment". They experimented with sounds and discovered their everyday acoustic environment. The collecting of their audio impressions, which have partly been recorded, lead to a musical expression: sound collages, sound postcards, compositions as well as texts and essays about the topic of hearing. This presentation will be the conclusion of the project.

Listen!
The auditory perception of space and ambiance happens all the time, but often without a special awareness. Especially in one’s everyday routine, these sounds oscillate between being irritating or inspiring – but mixed together these sounds can transform into music.
Two of the nominated projects will be presented!
