Osnabrücker Symphonieorchester

Established in 1919 the Osnabrücker Symphonieorchester plays an important part in musical life in and around Osnabrück. The orchestra performs on a high level and has found its place in the rich German orchestral landscape. Their commitment and professionality are highly esteemed by conductors and soloists alike. In recent years, the orchestra has performed with artists like Midori, Kolja Blacher, Baiba Skride, Lars Vogt, Bernd Glemser, Andrej Gavrilow, Colin Currie, Reinhard Goebel, Jan Vogler, Stefan Dohr, Marieluise Neunecker, Albrecht Mayer, Rabih Abou-Khalil, Anatoli Kotscherga and Anja Silja to name but a few.
In 2007 the orchestra gained worldwide attention and esteem: The Osnabrücker Symphonieorchester was the first western orchestra to perform in Teheran for 30 years. That was the first cultural exchange after such a long period in this country.
