Dan Tanson

During his studies in visual communication he specialized in illustrating children’s books. He trained in acting, contemporary puppetry, physical theatre and improvisation in Belgium, France, Germany and Luxembourg. Since 2000, he has been working as an independent artist, producing plays and directing. His main focus of interest is the connection between acting, contemporary puppetry and music. From 2009 until 2011, he was Artist in Residence at the Carré Rotondes, a theatre for a young audience in Luxembourg. Dan Tanson is a founder member of TRAFFIK THEATER, an independent theatre company that focuses on a young audience. Since 2000 he has been working regularly as a production partner with the Philharmonie Luxembourg.
Some of his current productions are: Rocky Roccoco (coproduction with Philharmonie Luxembourg and Sonus Brass Ensemble Austria), Seltsame Kinder (Brussels, coproduction with Cie de l’Arbre Rouge), Te Ros (Brussels, coproduction with Pantalone/Zefiro Torna). In 2009, his production "Wanja", a musical winter fairy tale, was awarded the “junge ohren preis” of the “netzwerk junge ohren” in the category "Best Practice".
